Afternoon Tea - That's Right Afternoon Tea
What the hell is Outline up to you may well say.......... Well we got an invite so why not go along, thought we would send our Jessica along
With it being National Afternoon Week from the 7th of August to the 13th of August, Dunston Hall invited us to try their Afternoon Tea. I’ve been in Norfolk my whole life and had never actually been to Dunston Hall; but with it being a short drive out of the city it was definitely very accessible. Driving up the long road to the Hall, you get a glimpse of the golf courses. You are soon greeted by the gorgeous hall with a beautiful fountain taking centre stage.
For the afternoon tea we went into the Tea Snug, it was a beautiful space and looked very modern. We were sat down and offered Tea or Coffee straight away. The snug was quiet, with a few others around us, there was even a birthday party going on too. Shortly after we sat, a tall 3 tier stand arrived at our table with a wide variety of goods, sandwiches, scones and cakes! The bottom tier consisted of afternoon tea sandwiches; they are always a favourite of mine. Fresh bread, cut up into fingers; from classic egg sandwiches to the more sophisticated fillings like smoked salmon and cheese & chutney, it was delightful.

On the second tier, it was scones. I think without a doubt my favourite part to an afternoon tea. Clotted cream and strawberry jam, you couldn’t go wrong. I’m personally a jam, then cream kind of girl… but I know there is a strong debate about it.

Finally, the cakes at the top, at this point I was getting rather full though. They were delicious and just ended the tea nicely.
Beyond the treats, the ambiance of Dunston Hall added to the overall enjoyment too. The elegant setting looked to be fairly modern and just had a relaxing feel to it. Our table looked across the grounds of Dunston Hall, it was a gorgeous day so there was a lot of people out playing golf.
The staff within the Tea Snug were excellent, couldn’t do enough for you. They welcomed us at the beginning and checked with us throughout, always offering refills on our tea and coffees. That staff were accommodating to dietary requirements as well.
With a charming ambiance and impeccable service, Dunston Hall offers a truly delightful afternoon tea that I would recommend to anyone.
