Olly Murs
In short, Olly Murs at Thetford Forest was a blast. It was one of those gigs where everything just clicked – awesome music, great company, and a killer location.
Yesterday, Thetford Forest turned into the ultimate summer party spot as Olly Murs rocked the stage in front of a packed crowd. The setting was ideal – a natural stage surrounded by towering trees, creating a magical atmosphere for an evening of live music.
One of my best friends is a huge Olly Murs fan, so I knew I had to take her to this gig! After work, we hopped in the car and drove down to Thetford from Norwich, a straightforward journey straight down the A11.
Entering High Lodge was a breeze, with plenty of staff on hand to guide us. We parked in the purple car park, which was just a short walk to the entrance. As we walked into the open space, we were amazed by the massive stage setup and the numerous food vendors. Options ranged from pizzas and Chinese to fish & chips and more. I opted for a Hog Roast roll with all the trimmings, and there were plenty of dessert choices as well.
Devon Brandon opened the evening with a fantastic set. I hadn't heard of him before, but his energy was great, and I enjoyed his performance.
After a brief break, Daniel Bedingfield took the stage. His energy was incredible, getting people up from their seats to dance. While I didn't know most of his songs, the crowd around us loved it.
Just before 8, and after a crepe, Olly Murs took the stage, bringing his A-game as expected. From the moment he bounced on stage with his infectious grin and cheeky dance moves, the crowd was hooked. His energy was off the charts, and he had everyone dancing and singing along to hits like "Don't Stop Dancing" and "Troublemaker." He slowed things down with "Right Place, Right Time," giving everyone a chance to catch their breath and wave their phone lights in the air. Olly said his goal was for everyone to lose their voice by tomorrow morning, and he easily achieved it.
The atmosphere was electric, not just because of the music but also due to the incredible crowd. We were fortunate enough to be in the VIP section, which featured a private dining area with various food vendors and a bar. Instead of portaloos, we enjoyed 'luxury' toilets. The VIP area was fenced off, giving us a front-stage view.
The mix of Olly’s catchy tunes, the beautiful forest backdrop, and the festival-like food and drink stalls made it an unforgettable night. By the time Olly wrapped up his set, the crowd was on such a high that they didn’t want the night to end.
In short, Olly Murs at Thetford Forest was a blast. It was one of those gigs where everything just clicked – awesome music, great company, and a killer location. If you weren’t there, you definitely missed out on a night to remember.

There was very little messing about, charging through song after song, so that when the band departed after an hour, having knocked seven bells out of the drumkit, it felt like only half that time had passed.
