Waiting For The Gift Of Sound & Vision
The fourth instalment of Norwich Sound & Vision is only place to be during the second week of October!
If you’re into film and TV, gaming, interactive and music be sure to block out Thursday 10 ‘til Saturday 12 October in your diary for the festival and conference programme that is Norwich Sound & Vision (NS&V) 2013. Oh, and make sure you’ve nothing arranged for Sunday – you’ll need AT LEAST a day to recover. #NSV2013
But first it’s time to get psyched. Prepare to feel the tingle of eager anticipation. Start planning. #threedaythrill
After all, you’ll only have yourself to blame if you miss out on this year’s equivalent of Palma Violets playing the week they graced NME’s cover or witnessing a band’s debut gig. #dontmissout”
There’s a lot more to NS&V than it being a three-day jolly for professionals working in the creative industries sector: Hell yes. #greatforNorwich
Of course NS&V’s conference includes formal discussions, drinks receptions and informal networking ‘til early evening, making it foolish for delegates to not share their business cards/demos/scripts/showreels with the world-class team of panellists, speakers and fellow-attendees, pre-festival fun. [hashtag] #justsaying
But you don’t have to be a delegate to enjoy entry to any of the 11 venues hosting shows, which is subject to capacity and some age restrictions: A gig wristband offers the same deal. Individual gig tickets are also available. [hashtag] #takeyourpick
NS&V is brought to you by a dedicated core team working all year round – [long dash, not hyphen] Adrian Cooke, festival director; Jenny Allison and Rosie Arnold are responsible for marketing and music programming; and, Clara Wiseman, whose duties include all things Young People’s Stage – joined by a small army of volunteers during the festival. #workinghardforyourpleasure
Right now, the team’s sorting the finishing touches for the biggest NS&V to date and you’re invited to experience as much of that as tickles your fancy: Don’t you wonder sometimes 'bout sound and vision… It’s all there at norwichsoundandvision.co.uk

David Olusoga - A Gun Through Time
What was most surprising was how witty a speaker Olusoga is, quite a revelation given his austere TV persona. Given the grim journey he was about to take us on, perhaps its purpose was simply a chance to get to know each other before discussing the elephant in the room - or at least the gun on stage - the Maxim gun, known as the Devil's Paintbrush, spewing out 666 bullets a minute.
