Boutique Fusions opens in Bedford Street
The independant departement store Boutique Fusions opens today at Bedford Street.
We all know Norwich has a lot to offer to shopping freaks. Two gigantic malls, a massive high street and loads of interesting shops are to be found in the city centre for everyone who’s up to it. As from today, the commercial family in Norwich has gained a new interesting member. The independent department store Boutique Fusions has opened its door this morning, sparking a great interest around town.
Not that this is so surprising. The building that now houses Boutique Fusions was formerly the home of the well-known Hovells Store, that shut down in 2003 due to ‘the economical aggression’. Thereafter it roofed the ski / surf sports store Just Add Water, that closed in a couple of years back. Since then, the enchanting and beloved building has been empty, left to decay in Bedford Street.
Now Thomas and Kindi Tembo are launching Boutique Fusions, a five-floor, 11,161 sq ft, store that comprises about ten separate departments championing local and independent brands. From beers to art supplies to maternity clothing. The opening could attract a lot of curious eyes, whilst the mayor formally cut the ribbon that officially opened the doors. Especially the greatly renovated building and the open-spaced atmosphere was received well.

David Olusoga - A Gun Through Time
What was most surprising was how witty a speaker Olusoga is, quite a revelation given his austere TV persona. Given the grim journey he was about to take us on, perhaps its purpose was simply a chance to get to know each other before discussing the elephant in the room - or at least the gun on stage - the Maxim gun, known as the Devil's Paintbrush, spewing out 666 bullets a minute.
