Founding bassist Eddie Macdonald, guitar great James Stevenson, and powerhouse drummer Steve “Smiley” Barnard reunite to celebrate the legacy of the late Mike Peters and drive it into a bold new era. This isn’t nostalgia.

This is evolution. Macdonald returns from decades in the shadows, his unmistakable basslines and anthemic songwriting once again forming the pulse of the band he helped create. Stevenson, whose guitar has thundered through Generation X, The Cult, and Gene Loves Jezebel, brings fire and finesse in equal measure.

Smiley — the rhythmic engine behind Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros, The Boomtown Rats, and Robbie Williams — powers The Alarm 2.0 with unstoppable energy and precision. In honour of Mike Peters, the group proudly continues to support the Love Hope Strength Foundation, carrying forward the mission that defined The Alarm’s soul. The band’s return to the stage sparked an overwhelming response — both London shows at The Lexington on December 18 and 19, 2025, sold out in record time, marking not just a comeback, but the dawn of a bold new chapter in the story of one of rock’s most enduring names.
