About this event
Part of our 'Folk Experimenta Series' Funded by Arts Council England
We have put together a 6 month programme that asks what is folk music today and what does it mean from all its forms past and present - from folk heroes - folklore, from artist who are challenging the status quo from arrangements to identify - we have put to together an eclectic lineup to challeneg the way we think about all things folk in music
We are very excited to welcome Smote to the Holloway basement!
The brainchild of Daniel Foggin, Smote has evolved seemingly of
it’s own volition. “I had the idea for years” he relates, “I love
Pärson Sound, Träd, Gräs Och Stenar, Traditional Irish Folk and
all sorts of different Drone and Folk music. It was simply finding the opportunity to sit down and get recording. A very heavy influence that affects Smote is fantasy as a genre, and the atmosphere that can be created via story-telling.”
